HANEKE DESIGN CLAIMS FOUR NEW INTERNATIONAL DAVEY AWARDS

davey-v-bannerHaneke Design continues to gain global recognition for the innovative, engaging, and user-friendly  mobile applications developed in collaboration with its clients, and today announced that it has been recognized with four new Silver International Davey Awards for 2014. WeVue, Tie the Knot, and CalciumPro, created for Norman Parathyroid Center, won Silver statuettes in Mobile Applications for Events, Lifestyle, and Health & Wellness categories, respectively. CalciumPro was also awarded Silver recognition in the Mobile Marketing – Health Care Services category.

“We are very excited to once again be recognized among the top creative agencies in world,” said Jody Haneke, president of Haneke Design.  “We’re grateful to the International Academy of the Visual Arts for honoring our work, and to our clients – WeVue, Tie the Knot, and Norman Parathyroid Center – for giving us the incredible opportunity to collaborate with them on the design and development of these mobile applications.”

The social video sharing app WeVue resulted from the Haneke Design team’s translation of the founders’ vision to create a mobile application that would allow people to crowdsource content from guests of events they’d attended – everything from private family celebrations to massive public festivals –and using an in-app video editor, turn the collected images into a video that could be shared across the web.  Tie the Knot is a mobile app that makes wedding planning, inviting, and sharing news with family and friends as easy as picking up your iPhone. While these two mobile applications help people connect with friends and family and create and share memories that can last a lifetime, the CalciumPro mobile application actually helps save people’s lives. Working with Dr. Jim Norman, the visionary and world renowned parathyroid surgeon who envisioned a mobile app that could diagnose parathyroid disease, the team created one that does exactly what Dr. Norman hoped it would. Since its launch in April 2013, over 20,000 CalciumPro apps have been sold.  Dr. Norman operates on 2 – 3 patients each week who have discovered their parathyroid disease using the CalciumPro app at his Parathyroid Center at Tampa General Hospital.

With nearly 4,000 entries from across the U.S. and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies and companies worldwide.

The Davey Awards is judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media.

“This year’s Davey Award winners truly embody the idea of small firms with big ideas. The work entered into this year’s competition reflects a smart approach to creativity that highlights the capabilities and talents of small agencies worldwide” noted Linda Day, Executive Director of the Davey Awards. She added, “On behalf of the Davey Awards and the Academy, we applaud this year’s entrants and winners for their dedication and commitment to perfecting their craft. Congratulations once again for a job well done.”
