Ignite Tampa Bay is a fun, fast-paced evening of presentations where local guest speakers are given exactly five minutes to talk about their passion. This event started in Seattle in 2006 and has since spread to many cities around the world. It was brought to Tampa in 2011 and is put on exclusively by volunteers. Haneke Design was the first sponsor to hop on board eight years ago and has continued to be a proud sponsor ever since.

“We have always been passionate supporters of the entrepreneurial and creative culture in Tampa Bay, and we are proud to sponsor such an amazing community event,” explained Jody Haneke, President and CEO of Haneke Design. “Ignite Tampa Bay allows creative thinkers to share stories, ideas, and inspiration which, in turn, sparks conversation and change within our community.”

The event format is unique in that each of the 20 speakers are given exactly five minutes to teach, enlighten, or inspire the crowd, all backed by 20 slides that advance automatically every 15 seconds. The result is a fast and impactful experience. Each of these talks are chosen and delivered in a way that is intended to ignite thought, discussion and innovation. These rapid-fire talks can be about virtually anything. This year featured topics ranging from disaster preparedness to personal stories about life altering events.

Ignite Tampa Bay kicked off at 6:00 pm at the beautiful Palladium Theater in St Pete. Guests enjoyed wine and local beers, as well as food from St. Pete’s Taco Lady Food Truck. Immediately following the event, Ignite hosted an after-party at The Hollander Hotel where guests and speakers could mingle and celebrate the evening.
