share story

Metropolitan Ministries is a Tampa-based nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing hope to the homeless. They offer many ways to help give back to the community year-round and especially during the holiday season.

The Holiday Tent is run by volunteers and is a great way for YOU to give back to the community. The tasks include directing traffic, sorting donations, and helping visitors shop for supplies.

“The true spirit of the Holiday Tent is that it provides an opportunity to build community. The Holiday Tent is a special place where more than 100,000 people from all walks of life come together and love one another.” – Metropolitan Ministries

Last year, Metropolitan Ministries helped –

  • 18,402 families receive Holiday assistance
  • 18,470 children receive toys

This year, over 23,000 families have already registered to receive assistance.

If you are interested in helping families in need this holiday season, there is still time! The tent is still in need of donations, especially gifts for teens.

Some ideas include:

  • Gift Cards (Walmart, Publix, Target, Amazon)
  • Headphones
  • Makeup Kits
  • Clothing
  • Local Sports Team Paraphernalia

Visit Metropolitan Ministries for more information about where you can drop off donations.
