The Florida Aquarium is a nonprofit organization working to entertain, educate and inspire stewardship of the natural environment. The aquarium has found great success as a business and is well known for its conservation efforts, which is something they take great pride in. The leadership recognizes that the Florida Aquarium has the potential to become a powerful advocate for protecting the ocean and has made it a priority to increase their conservation, education and community impact.

As a result, The Marketing and Guest Experience Committee was created in order to further their mission and expand their brand. The committee is comprised of board members who provide guidance and support for marketing, communications and brand awareness strategies for the aquarium. Together they work to innovate new and exciting ways to further increase attendance and contributions, which is always a priority for nonprofit organizations.

“This committee brings together great minds within the community, all working towards one common goal – the success of the Florida Aquarium,” said Jody Haneke, CEO of Haneke Design. “We all bring different levels of experience and insight to the table, and I am excited to be involved with this fine group.”

The committee meets quarterly to discuss and brainstorm ways in which to enhance guest experiences at the Florida Aquarium. This will be accomplished through the implementation of an effective marketing strategy, cutting edge technology and strategic partnerships. The committee is also responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the construction, revitalization and maintenance of the aquarium’s physical facilities.
