In less than a decade, a massive paradigm shift in content distribution has occurred, empowering audiences, customers and content creators with new channels such as social media, YouTube, and the like.  So where does that leave the big studios, networks, and media corporations who previously had dominion over the world’s entertainment and information supply? Jody Haneke, president of Haneke Design, will join other local media industry leaders in exploring this topic and more at the Sarasota County Film and Entertainment Office’s August Film Mixer.  The event will be held August 30, 2012, from 5:30 – 7:30 pm at The Asolo Repertory Theatre’s new Robert and Beverly Koski Production Center.

“Sarasota has emerged as a landmark destination in terms of what’s next for the digital media, computer animation and film industries,” said Haneke. “As a student at Ringling College of Art and Design, I spent a great deal of time among the innovators who teach, work, or live in Sarasota.  It’s always exciting to go back and immerse myself in what’s happening there.”

The Sarasota County Film and Entertainment Office’s August Film Mixer will take place in one of the city’s newest jewels, the Robert and Beverly Koski Production Center.  Located at 1009 Tallevast Road, the Center is one of the largest and best-equipped scenic production facilities in the state. The 45,000 square foot building houses scenery and production facilities, the theatre’s vast costume and prop collection, production staff offices and a rehearsal hall.
