A WORLD OF CONNECTIVITY AWAITS THROUGH THE MYFRANKCRUM HR PORTAL WEB APP

Haneke Design is pleased to announce that, through an ongoing partnership with FrankCrum, a new set of feature enhancements are in development for the MyFrankCrum human resource portal.

BACKGROUND

The MyFrankCrum HR platform is a tool for both employers and employees, granting access to the HR information and tools they need most. 

Employees are able to view their pay stubs, W-2’s, and request PTO; administrators and management teams can enter payroll, onboard new employees, request certificates of workers’ comp insurance, and approve PTO requests…all in one convenient location.

With a strong proprietary platform in place, the FrankCrum team called upon Haneke Design to implement improvements to the overall look, feel, and function of the software.

MODERNIZED TECH STACK

The initial objective was to eliminate technical debt in the company’s existing employee management platform with a development strategy centered upon feature parity (or mirroring the functionality of the existing system with a more up-to-date tech stack).

To accomplish this, Haneke Design’s development team converted the platform to a React frontend framework. Using React not only offers greater customization for the software developers, but also an enhanced overall workflow for the end user. 

Through these technological upgrades, the development team was also able to deliver a more robust and user-friendly application programming interface, or API.

The function of an API is to access, interpret, transform, and retrieve data that is stored in a remote server, ultimately presenting it to end users as digestible information.

This speaks to the core intent of the MyFrankCrum application: to create a service which allows users to not only view but understand their employee data with ease.

DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS

To offer a more intuitive and modern design for users, a series of updates and upgrades were also needed. 

The challenge was to improve the user experience and interface to create a seamless and intuitive application with a design that was more reflective of modern web design standards.

Some of these improvements included:

• a redesigned interface—making the application easier for users to navigate
• reusable templates and components—offering greater ease of use and more aesthetic consistency
• data visualization—allowing employees and HR professionals to view the metrics that are most important to them

With these design improvements, the application has a far more intuitive and streamlined feel and function and offers a superior end user experience.

FULLY RESPONSIVE PLATFORM

Many of FrankCrum’s clients, including those in construction, manufacturing, and light industrial industries, are often unable to work from a computer at a stationary location: As such, it is imperative that they have access to their employee management tools, such as payroll administration and timesheet management, while on the go.

Haneke Design made this possible by delivering a fully functional and appropriately formatted application accessible from both mobile devices and computers. The new MyFrankCrum web application offers offsite workers access to the HR tools they need most, from anywhere.

PROMOTIONAL VIDEO

To demonstrate the fully responsive new application in action, Haneke Design’s digital marketing team created a video which excites and educates viewers about the new platform by highlighting its key feature improvements.

The visual design has a highly digitized feel, emphasizing the modernization of the app. This, coupled with a quick pace and energetic backing track, set the tone for a new, fresh, and exciting experience for MyFrankCrum users. 

PRODUCT STRATEGY

Areas of valuable improvement continue to be identified on the MyFrankCrum web application, thanks to the collaboration between the teams at Haneke Design and FrankCrum.

In fact, in an effort to support ongoing improvements to the application, FrankCrum hired its first product manager with support from Haneke Design.

Damian Jones is currently senior product manager for FrankCrum: In this role, his objective is to identify and prioritize users’ wants and needs in the application and then coordinate with the Haneke Design team and the company’s internal technology team to bring those features to life.

Through an organized and effective product strategy, teams stay on the right path toward achieving the best end-result for users of the application.

NEW FEATURES

Haneke Design’s development team performs ongoing maintenance to the MyFrankCrum web application and implements monthly feature enhancements.

The team’s latest active project is an improved feature for content sharing. This will give FrankCrum and its employer clients the ability to share company news and documents with their teams and will allow employees to download important files and post comments and reactions to company updates.
