In addition to developing the branding, Web site design and user experience, Haneke Design created a search format that allows businesses to log in and manage their directory information and enables consumers to do research either by business category, keyword, or zip code.
Consumers have the opportunity to rate the “greenness” of a particular business to validate the claims companies are making and educate each other about truly green businesses versus those who “greenwash” for marketing purposes. Another differentiator of the Nearby Green site is the ability of listed businesses to respond anonymously to user reviews, i.e. send a simple thank you or coupon offering.
