ZVRS Selects Haneke Design for Design & Development of Mobile App

side-ZVRSZVRS – also known as The Z™ – a leading provider of Video Relay Services (VRS) to deaf and hard of hearing communities nationwide,  has chosen Haneke Design as its exclusive design and development partner for mobile applications.

The multidisciplinary design firm, which has developed industry-changing mobile applications and multi-platform marketing campaigns for the St. Petersburg Times/TampaBay.com, Target, and HP, will begin work immediately on an iPhone application that will give ZVRS’ clients access to sign language interpreters in the company’s call center using FaceTime on Apple’s newest video-enabled phones.

ZVRS, a for-profit company headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, was spun out from Community Services for the Deaf (CSD), a non-profit corporation, in 2006.  Of the company’s 400 employees, 60 percent are deaf, including two members of the executive management team. ZVRS is certified by and operates under FCC regulations and is remunerated for VRS calls processed from the Telecommunications Relay Service Fund.
